Looking for feedback on using an Agency or a Facilitator for Domestic adoption. I have been looking at Sunny Ridge Agency in Illinois and Lifetime Adoption as a Facilitator…any thoughts

ever heard of foster care???????????????
We have an open adoption through The Cradle in Illinois. The experience was lengthy and challenging at times, but the people are reputable and caring and will not let a child be involved in a situation where she/he can be moved from one family to another and back again.

I send you peace as you start the journey.
are you adopting an infant?
I would go with an agency. A facilitator sounds like they find prego mommies and get you in touch with them. very risky. mommies can change their mind
I would go with an adoption of a child who’s parents have already terminated their parental rights. that would be with an agency.
Domestic Adoption ~ Please look into being foster parents and adopt from foster care… There are so many children, different ages, boys girls etc. that need wonderful, safe happy and LOVING homes. Please look into foster care adoption.
Anastasia ~ could you please be a little nicer. Manners please.
We have adopted to children and I would reccomend NEITHER
What you need is an attorney that specializes in adoption. Best is to find one the only does adoption. They can handle all the legal issues and needs, you will need them eventually anyway to get thorugh the courts. They also have a network of doctors, social workers, school councilers…etc…. that will find birthmoms or already have ones. It will cost you much less money and be 100% legal and straight up in all ways.
in some states it is illegal to use a facilitator or referral service. You may want to check your local laws before you choose. I can tell you that agencies generally do more for counseling and supporting the expectant mother. Facilitators don’t have that reputation.
