The following is provided to answer the most
frequently asked questions we receive from birth mothers.
If your questions are
not answered here, please feel free
to contact us.

Do I have to decide on your agency just because I called
you?

No, you can go to any agency at any time. We are happy to
discuss your choices with you.

Am I obligated to place my infant for adoption just
because I am being counseled by your agency?

We are here to provide you with a look at the entire picture, including parenting
your infant. If you should choose to parent your infant, we will support you
in your decision.

What costs will I incur throughout the adoption process?

There is no cost for a young woman placing her child for adoption. Our counseling
services are free of charge, whether you place the infant in an adoptive family's
home, or if you decide to parent the infant. Medical expenses are normally covered
by the insurance of the birthparent(s) or their families. If there is no insurance
coverage available, we proceed to obtaining Medicaid coverage if the birth mother
is eligible. Once the infant is placed in the home
of the adoptive couple, any
outstanding expenses become the obligation of the adoptive couple. Additionally,
there are no legal fees for the birthparent(s) unless they choose to seek additional
legal advice outside of Loving Option, Inc.
