Pet store dogs tend to be from puppy mills so they are usually not in the best of health or prone to illnesses more so than one’s from reputable breeders.
Also, it’s nice to adopt a dog from a shelter because you are giving it a second chance to have a great life.
because buying from a pet store may perpetuate the problem of puppy mills and inhumane conditions for those animals. pet stores work on supply/demand. the puppy mills will keep producing as long as people keep buying at the pet store.
adoption animals…you are saving an animal that is already born and needs a home. there is no supply demand factor
pet stores get their dogs from puppy mills. and puppy mill dogs r usually sickly and have disease. dont know what a puppymill is here u go.

do u really want a dog that came from those conditions and probably has many diseases and will probably die at an early age.
because the pet stores don’t keep up with the animal’s medical needs as well as an adoption agency so there’s a good chance that the dog you buy from a pet store with have some kind of illness and your vet bill sky rockets.
Because the majority of animals,especially puppies,in pet stores,come from puppy mills,where no thought is given to the animals health or well-being,and dogs are bred every time they come into heat,and then killed or sold to laboratories when they are no longer fit for breeding.It’s cruel and just contributes to the problem when you purchase a puppy from a pet store.And,there are SO many nice dogs and cats in shelters,just waiting for a home.
It is better to adopt from shelters becasue they are great places to get dogs from,you would be saving a life and getting a great dog.Shelters take in homeless dogs, sick dogs,not wnated.They fix them and get them vet care, and try to help as many dogs as possible. They then find the dogs their forever homes and have strict policies.
Petstores are the worst places to get a dog from ,they are sick unhealthy dogs from puppy mills, you would be supporting puppy mills.Puppy Mills: own lots of dogs sometimes hundreds, they breed any 2 dogs they dont care about their pedigrees or their health, they breed their dogs to death, they breed for money not to better the breed, their dogs recieve no human interaction, when the dogs can no longer breed they dump them. a lot of pups born at puppy mills dont survive because of their mom’s poor health ,they die at birth .these still born pups are soemtimes fed to the surviving pups.To keep the dogs quiet ,they shove pipes down the dogs mouths to break their vocal cords ,this way their bark isnt as loud.

pet store puppies come from puppy mills. puppy mills are horrible places in which dogs are breed (literally) to death.
the parents are unhealthy, thus the puppies are usually unhealthy as well.
they come from places where the people do not give a rats behind about the dogs at all..all they care about it making money.

Pet stores generally sell puppies that come from puppy mills. If you buy a puppy from a pet store you will most likely end up with a unstable puppy with many health problems. And you will also be supporting puppy mills. You can do some more research on puppy mills on your own, but they are TERRIBLE places!!! And the puppies usually cost a LOT of money.
When you adopt a dog from an animal shelter you will be saving money on the adoption fee, and the animal usually comes up to date on all routine care (vaccines, heartworm test and prevention etc.) and already spayed or neutered. And you will also be saving a dogs life!!! By adopting you will be helping to reduce the pet overpopulation.
Agreed. Pet stores get theirs from anywhere they can to take care of the demand. Private parties are better and then of course the shelter where you will find a wonderful pet.
If I was to buy a new pet today (I already have 3 dogs!), I’d choose a good/responsible breeder, maybe from the AKC website. These breeders have quality puppies and they do provide health guarantee for you. In a pet store you have no clue where the puppies are coming from. And the conditions they are put there… that’s no good. I think adoption from a humane society or other place would be a good thing. So many dogs are being dropped at shelters, and at these shelters they do receive good care and are examined and treated by vets.
sometimes from petstores the animals are from puppy mills or maybe tourchered by the breeders you never know i volunteer at a humane society and people ask this all the time. if you go to the shelter me and like well the people where your shelter is what we do is since the people work around them all the time they get to know the animals so hey can really tell you about there personalities and how they are.
By adopting you are saving a dog.Petshops get their dogs from Puppy millers thru brokers and also from BYB,backyard breeders.You will in all likelihood spent an enormous amount to money on a petshop dog only to have to spend more money because it’s sick,not counting the vetting fees.Most rescues and shelters do everything that is age appropriate for a dog and then some for a much smaller fee than you’d expect..Save a life and adopt.
Pet stores get theirs from puppy mills and usually are not well bred or very heathly. Have you ever really looked at the dogs at pet stores? They have crusty noses and I’ve seen a lot with fur patches missing….do help these people continue to over breed these dogs, buy from a shelter!
the animals from "adoption agencies" like SPCA have been given heaalth exams, spayed and neutered, and given their necessary shots. you know they’re in good health. pet sotre animals have been caged for undetermined lengths of times, subjected to people banging on the glass of their cages, and can be from so called "puppy mills"

well, animals at the pet store (dogs in particular) come from puppy mills. puppy mills breed dogs until they die. the puppies are kept in horrible conditions. they are kept in small cages, usually several in one cage. if you buy a dog from a pet store you are supporting this horrible act. plus puppies at the store are overly priced. the shelter dogs are usually strays that need homes or else they will be put to sleep. you can find the same dogs at the pet store in a shelter at a fraction of the price. so just get a dog at the shelter.
becuase the better for the animals in a adoption agency then letting the breeds the dogs every 6 weeks and locking them up in a cage
Dogs from pet store are typically from puppy mills. They often carry genetic dieases and harbor illnesses that will only show up after the health guarantee is long gone. They are very expensive and the store never seems to know anything about the breeder. After buying the pup at the store all vaccines and spaying/neutering are on you. An agency spays/neuters and completes all shots. They may be able to tell you some backround on the animal itself. They are always far cheaper and you really get more for your money. Some dogs are even being fostered and the foster family can tell you tons abut the animal. Many shelter dogs seem very grateful to be adopted and appreciate a real home. You also get to save a life.
